“Blah!” is the name of a new category in the BirdingInSpain.com web scene.<\/p>\n

Everybody knows that “Blah, blah, blah” means someone is talking too much. So “Blah!” is mostly images, and just a few words.<\/p>\n

The first “Blah!” post:<\/p>\n

Birds in the Monegros<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

\"Drinking<\/p>\n

Water in the Monegros<\/strong> used to be a precious thing. In the long hot summer it would look something like the above – a drinking pool.<\/p>\n

\"Monegros<\/p>\n

Oh, look! A sandgrouse<\/strong> track! But what’s that next to it? A euro? Perhaps we can follow its trail around the Monegros.<\/p>\n

\"European<\/p>\n

3 million euros. Not bad for a start….<\/p>\n

\"European<\/p>\n

There’s 12 million euros. That’s more like it!<\/p>\n

\"European<\/p>\n

And there’s 22 million euros. Those pesky dryland birds<\/strong> won’t know what hit them!<\/p>\n

\"Bulldozers<\/p>\n

Thanks guys! Couldn’t do any of this without you!<\/p>\n

Sure signs that this is a humanitary mission. And that all those euros are being well spent.<\/p>\n

Now don’t get me wrong, I like nature. Flowers and birds are very pretty. But no-one’s going to get rich by trying to make sure that sandgrouse<\/strong> and bustards<\/strong> don’t go extinct, are they? Just how much money do you think you can scrounge off the European Union for biodiversity conservation<\/strong>? Be serious!<\/p>\n
